The Autobiography Of A Waterfall In Pelling

Let me tell you about my life,
which discords with you and wildlife,
I was born in Ice Age in Pelling,
So many birds sat near me and used to sing,
My water was milky and brightly shining,
The travellers used to halt and found me enticing,
My Arteries made the forest so lively,
I flowed with full vigour and so wildly,
Time passed and you started to ignore,
Dumping plastic in my veins and choking me more,
I begged you for life but nobody cared,
Your packets of lays and toffees made me impaired,
Now less is water in me and more is the polythene,
Did you ever thought for a second what made this scene?
Does keeping trash in your car was so difficult for you,
Or was your ego your best virtue?
I curse upon you for you didn't realize,
What pain was there behind my heavy sighs,
Now your children will drink poison in time to come,
That's the only possible outcome!

This Poem has been written by me after coming back from a trip of Sikkim. Pelling is a hillstation which is presently abundant with flora and fauna but looking at the current rate of increase in pollution, I wonder if this poem will substantiate itself in future!
