Tuesday

A settlement

There is a secret place
Hidden in the wilderness
where I have heard
Lovers often meet

A place that exists
Not in sound
Yet, not in silence
Beyond the boundaries
Of daily humdrum,
Lovers saunter into the sphere
Of its dreamlike divinity

It’s cast away by an ocean
Where the gushes of gripe
Violently runs down
sand castles of  rancour

On the other end
It looks over a steep hill
Where the resounding silence
Is more deafening than
Echoing screams.

But in between
These extremities of existence
Lie those small dwellings
Where many lovers have discovered
The ever eluding concord

I added to the saltiness of the sea
And trickled few drops down the hill
Yes, it took a while
But look, I found us a perfect place

I also decked the walls,
Mopped the floors
Fixed us a humble dinner
And the bed is ready too.
But the pillow next to mine
Tells me how it longs for
The dampness of your tresses
