I PRAY FOR YOUR HAPPINESS

As the music from the chirping birds fill the silent dawn,
As the melodious melody fill the sonorous strings of a guitar,
As the taste of sugar candies fill a child’s mouth,
As the pleasant honey fill the cells of a honeycomb,
As the vibrant colour of the butterflies fill the colourful garden,
As the warm sunshine of the sun fill the sunflower’s petals,
As the smell of the fresh apples fill the soothing orchard,
As the sweetly perfumed nectar fill the blooming flower,
As the coldness of the water drops fill the misty valley,
As the warmth of a loving hug fill a mother’s affection,
So I pray the world be filled with your happiness.

This poem I wrote as a birthday gift to my badimummy. My badimummy's birthday falls on 22nd march. Though I sometimes feel this does not fall into the category of 'poem', but anyways!!. Was written in 2004

SONNET: CHILDHOOD

The age filled with lots and lots of happiness, Is none other than childhood, brimming with joy and freshness;

The word describes the world of a newborn,
With innocence and curiosity all around;
The wonder eyed looks attracting all eyes,
The life full of truth and no lies;
Eager to know everything where mystery awaits,
Delight and pleasure the little mind innovates;
The jerky speech seems so polite,
Wants and desires fly high like a kite;
Water pearls time to time kiss the nose,
Keeping parents attentive and on their toes;
This golden age was the best part of my life,
My heart longs to renew with a hopeful sigh...

 

This one was written on 25/5/03, but this was written on request of my cousin. He had to show a composition in his class so he made me the scapegoat instead!. He gave me 5 words related to the theme i.e. INNOCENCE, CURIOSITY, EAGER, HAPPINESS, WONDER EYED and I made the poem on that theme.
