FAILURE LEADS TO SUCCESS

Failure is something we shouldn't fear,

Failure is the one putting us to next gear;

It is something which encourages us to work hard,

It pushes us to success like a dart;

It makes us realize the realities of life,

Afterwards sharpen's our knowledge as sharp as knife;

It encourages us thereafter to give our best,

Therefore it helps us to stand out of the rest;

Failure is an inevitable milestone,

If we take it seriously we will never be alone;

The upcoming knowledge will ever be our friend,

It would keep us on the path of newly found trend;(of getting success after success)

Failure if retrospected seriously put upcoming failures to recess,

Therefore failure is surely the next step to success.

This is an award winning poem, literally!!. I took part in an english writing competition while in my 2nd semester of NIEC. I won the 1st prize with this composition of mine. I remember there were some competitors who were looking so intelligent by their face that it send me shudders down my spine. I sat near the window and wrote this poem. For much time I looked outside the window. After the end of competition I asked my senior(who were conducting that competition) to allow me to write that poem so that I can keep it with me forever

EXAMS

Exams, the word itself fills me with great fear,

One day before it the mind becomes clean and clear,

It feels scary, the tension is high,

My parents surround me and say do or die.

I feel very weak, I have no strength,

But my parents constantly say common its 10’Th.

It seems the whole world is looking at me,

My heart says lets hide anywhere or flee.

Can you tell me why exams come?

Why does it make us deaf and dumb?

It seems there’s no answers to these questions I plot,

O teacher please put to these exams a big FULL STOP.

This one was written on 10/10/2001 when I was in 10th standard( in St. Fidelis College) and the board exams were due to take place. My parents were keeping an eye on me and were after me to force me to keep studying
